LONGMONT — During a time when many businesses are struggling to keep
their doors open, Zach Evans has more than doubled the size of his
shop’s space. He credits his success to remembering that money is the
reward, not the goal, for a good business.
Evans secured a business license in December 2007 and worked out of
his garage until finding a space in Longmont. He opened Zach’s
Transmission and 4x4 in May 2008 and last month expanded his
2,200-square-foot shop to 5,200 square feet.
Recognizing that Evans was on to a successful business model, GEARS
magazine, published by the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders
Association, featured him in the May 2010 issue.
The trade publication created a system to find successful
independent shop operations in the auto-repair industry. Evans ranked
high in the assessment.
