Professional Bio
As CEO of the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association (ATRA), I lead one of the most respected international trade organizations in the transmission repair industry. Since 1954, ATRA has supported over 2,000 members—including shop owners, technicians, educators, students, and suppliers—through training, research, and industry advancement.
In this role, I drive the association's strategic vision and operational leadership. I work closely with our Board of Directors, staff, and member network to develop initiatives that expand ATRA’s reach, elevate technical standards, and promote sustainable growth across the transmission repair community.
Key Highlights:
Education & Training Leadership: With over two decades of experience in transmission repair, I’ve led hundreds of technical seminars and training events. Industry professionals widely use my award-winning ATRA seminar books and technical manuals.
Industry Thought Leader: I’ve authored over 50 technical articles for GEARS magazine and have been featured in media outlets, including The New York Times, for my expertise in transmission maintenance and diagnostics.
Strategic & Technical Oversight: I manage ATRA’s technical department strategy and oversee critical programs, including our technical hotline, seminars, GEARS content, service bulletins, Shifting Times, repair manuals, and annual Expo materials. I also serve as editor for all major training and event publications.
Certification & Quality Programs: I developed and manage ATRA’s Certification Program and produce webinars and educational resources that support ongoing professional development for our members.
